*DESCRIPTION: * This part-time staff person will provide for the comfort and safety of Shelter residents by maintaining the building and grounds.  This is a non-exempt position as defined in the Fair Labor Standards Act.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

• Provides general upkeep of the Shelter facility and grounds
• Responsible for regular maintenance and minor repairs, which may include plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting work
• Responsible for retrieving and unloading items donated from local shelters
• Responsible for deep cleaning resident bedrooms and bathrooms upon exit
• Maintains adequate inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Assists in moving and storing donated and purchased supplies and other items
• Provides an inclusive, feminist, non-violent approach to Blackburn Center clients

QUALIFICATIONS include but are not limited to:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in maintenance of buildings and grounds
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver's license & insurance if travel is a required component of the job
• Ability to work with ease with people of differing backgrounds, ages, maturity, abilities, races, colors, creeds, genders, ancestry, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic satus and experiences
• Commitment to the program philosophy of the agency
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to manage time effectively, establish priorities and function both independently and as a team member required
• Ability to travel within the county required
• Acts 33/34 Certifiable and FBI background check required
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Knowledge of issues and dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse and incest desired
