Robert Half Accounting Supervisor in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role involves overseeing a small team of accountants, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and conducting various accounting tasks. You will be part of a dynamic and growing team in the industry, contributing to our strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a small team of Accountants, ensuring the accuracy and timely distribution of financial statements.

• Train new Accountants to ensure they are well-equipped to fulfill their roles.

• Review all bank reconciliations with the balance sheet before financial distribution.

• Act as a backup for the team or for fellow Accounting Team Leaders when needed.

• Communicate team or site accounting issues or challenges immediately to the Accounting Manager.

• Identify ways to increase efficiency in the accounting department and communicate these to the Controller.

• Ensure that the team’s Quarterly Worksheets are completed accurately and on time.

• Provide support to site teams as needed in relation to Accounting and accompanying software.

• Prepare and deliver performance coaching and annual reviews.

• Update the Accounting Manual as required.

• Support and implement department and company strategy.

• Participate in Leadership courses and present at Accounting Department Meetings / Conferences.

• Support the Controller and Accounting Manager with special projects, including but not limited to, end of year tax entries and 1099 distribution.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within the accounting field

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Previous experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements

• Demonstrated skills in Supervisory Oversight

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards
