Position: 

The role of the Sales Manager is to fully develop the Group Market Segment with the emphasis on Group production within the SMERF market, while concentrating on the solicitation of new profitable business. Our ideal candidate skillfully and strategically sells lodging and function space to maximize revenue potential for the resort and to ensure that the customer has the best possible experience, while also achieving revenue goals, developing and implementing sales action plans, and maintaining positive interdepartmental communications.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Achieve monthly room night booking goals, handling group blocks from 10 or more rooms on peak nights.

  • Follow Booking Guidelines.

  • Participate in sales trip targeting the SMERF market and group within market.

  • Solicit new and repeat accounts within assigned market segment.

  • Prospect and develop new accounts in line with Paws Up Montana values.

  • Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals and outside sales.

  • Active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.

  • Achieve budgeted room nights, rate and revenues.

  • Participates in development of direct mail and all promotions related to the SMERF market segment needs.

  • Maintain positive attitude and welcome change.

  • Prepare and send requested proposals and contracts to clients.

  • Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all co-workers for the best overall performance of the resort.

  • Maintain a competitive understanding of the luxury market and our comp set, ensuring our offerings remain compelling.

    Supportive Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Display hospitality and professionalism to our guests and team members at all times, take pride in representing The Resort at Paws Up professionally with our guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal, ethical, and confidential manner.

  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all Resort team members to foster and promote a positive working environment.

  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times.

  • Perform work in a safe and high-quality manner.

    Looking for team members with:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively to perspective and existing clients

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of group sales experience in a management role with a full-service property

  • Exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-with a knack for active listening and adaptability.

  • Experience with the luxury market and nuances of communication required between client and resort
