Community Action of Pioneer Valley Energy Technician 1 - Base Load Auditor in Greenfield, Massachusetts

GREENFIELD - SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION - Energy Technician 1 - Base Load Auditor POSITION SUMMARY The Energy Technician 1 conducts electric baseload efficiency audits, assess electrical appliances for potential replacement, client education, and direct installation of LED lightbulbs for income-eligible clients throughout Franklin and Hampshire Counties. Key Knowledge and Experience: Experience working with marginalized communities and individuals with low incomes. Experiencei nvolved with residential energy audits,including assessment of Building Shell, Health & Safety and Home Heating Appliances. Experience with data management, data capture, tracking methods and analysis for outcome measurements. Understanding of the house-as-a-system approach to weatherization and home improvement: interrelationships among heat transfer, solar gains and losses, heating system performance, comfort, durability, safety, etc. Knowledge of vermiculite, Knob & Tube, mold/mildew/allergen, etc., mitigation. Knowledge and effective application of Funding Source rules and guidelines for the expenditure of Energy Efficiency, Weatherization, and other relevant funds. Knowledge of local, state and federal building codes, building design and construction, and inherent problems associated with older housing stock and multi-family homes. Adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate close attention to details. Computer skills: E-mail, Microsoft Office applications, data entry and energy modeling software programs. Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of experience in related work Must have own reliable transportation for daily travel throughout the agency and program?s service area as well as occasional travel in the region for training.
