We are seeking a Senior Systems Risk Engineer to join the KBR team, supporting the OMES III (Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services III) and SEAS II (Systems Engineering Advanced Services II) contracts in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate and manage the risks for the JPSS Flight Project and the Landsat Next Flight project.

  • Support risk boards

  • Develop contingency plans to ensure maximum risk control

  • Conduct investigations and assessments in detail, to determine a solid risk management plan

  • Prepare reports and documentation about the risk management processes, and communicate to the stakeholders regarding the same

  • Provide full lifecycle leadership with strategic thinking, stakeholder analyses, and implementing winning strategies

  • Participating in internal JPSS Spacecraft and Satellite progress meetings, design reviews, test readiness reviews, anomaly boards, parts/material boards, etc., as appropriate.

  • Participate in program status meetings, telecons, peer reviews, and major project reviews for spacecraft, instruments, launch vehicle, and mission operations system.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 25+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on space systems, integration, and testing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or related field (Masters degree preferred)

  • Strong background in risk assessment and processes.

  • Extensive experience in flight hardware risk assesements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.

Basic Compensation:

$180,000 - $270,000

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
