ASRC Federal Holding Company Project Support Specialist in Greenbelt, Maryland

ASFC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Project Support Specialist to provide Full-Time support to a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD .

Job Summary:

  • Provide mid-senior level support to the Planetary Environments Laboratory of the Solar System Exploration Division (Code 690) offices, centering on a variety of complex functions, including development of process improvements, development of improved tracking mechanisms, and training/mentoring of colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Point of Contact for actions related to requirements and processes for travel. Create, review, and track travel authorizations and expense reports. The individual will maintain documentation in conjunction with updates and changes to Federal Travel Regulations and GSFC procedures. The individual will develop and implement communication methodologies to clearly and effectively ensure that all customers are aware of action items and procedural changes as they arise.

  • Complete critical analysis and review of formal document packages. All documents requiring signature will be reviewed for correct preparation and proper grammar before any needed signature(s) and further routing.

  • Maintain and update tracking electronic files, records, and data. Track all actions via Excel spreadsheets.

  • Observe Records Management protocols (maintain pertinent records for required documentation).

  • Provide program management support to working groups, and other meetings. Coordinate schedules for meetings. Create and edit presentations as needed. Ensure hybrid meetings properly utilize communication devices and systems.

  • Compile and edit weekly highlight reports as well as weekly meeting notes.

  • Create and maintain logs for laboratory and office management.

  • Act as point of contact for interns and post doctoral fellows. Liaise with Division/Directorate personnel to ensure all related actions/requirements are met

  • Additional duties as needed.

Requirements :

  • Knowledge of the GSFC systems such as travel, AMMS, EUSO, IdMAX, MOSI, and STRIVES is desired.

  • Strong working knowledge of Office365, including Sharepoint, Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work with all levels.

  • Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and respond/produce quality work efficiently with short deadline actions in a fast-paced environment.

  • The individual must also possess a strong sense of ethics, discretion, and professional sophistication.

  • Ability to communicate project status and issues to customers and leadership as they arise. May be responsible for taking direction from leadership and distributing information to team members, stakeholders, and leadership quickly and efficiently.

  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 or more years of professional experience or 7-8 or more years of related experience in lieu of degree.
