ASRC Federal Holding Company Financial Analyst - NASA Goddard in Greenbelt, Maryland

ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities :

Provides expert-level accounting support to the Regional Finance Office (RFO) Financial Operations Branch (FOB).

  • Provides expert consulting and evaluation of complex accounting, administrative, logistical, and analytical issues, as needed, in coordination with the government.

  • Responsible for monitoring and taking action in the Invoice Routing & Information System (IRIS) for invoices needing cost to render payment.

  • Responsible for interpreting financial information pertaining to Cost, Accounts Payable and IRIS.

  • Accesses SAP to obtain the necessary information needed to post cost for purchase orders and contracts.

  • Monitors, reconciles, and analyzes all assigned NF-533 contracts for GSFC, HQ and/or NOJMO.

  • Partners with members of the RFO cost team to identify and resolve Accounts Payable problems related to costing.

  • Provides periodic Costing status to RFO leadership.

  • Contacts NSSC Accounts Payable personnel with any specific questions regarding Costing/Accounts Payable issues.

  • Communicates effectively with Procurement and Resources Community on Costing/Accounts Payable issues.

  • Support Quality Assurance reviews; Prepare audit samples and process narratives.

  • Participates in monthly external stakeholder meetings; engage in project outreach training; engage in working groups/resources forums; conduct Agency and customer telecoms.

  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements :

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Ability to perform a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative work of a financial nature for support activities.

  • Requires detailed, intensive knowledge of the policies, procedures, goals, objectives, regulations and guidelines of a functional area such as financial oversight, Accounts Payable, budget formulation, and/or budget execution.

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment as well as ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Ability to use and understand SAP is desirable.

  • Familiar with Appropriations Law.

  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

Must meet one of the following requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting

  • 24 hours of accounting credits with 6 years of Finance and/or Accounting experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
