JBS USA SENIOR RISK MANAGER in Greeley, Colorado

JBS is looking for an Senior Risk Manager to join our team at the Corporate Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and active CPA desirable.

  • 5 years progressive experience in employee benefits and commercial insurance involving large claim, multinational, high deductible (self insured retention) multiline coverage.

  • Claims handling

  • Debit/credit accounting knowledge helpful

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various levels of management

  • Knowledge of employee benefits accounting for self insured and third party insured lines

  • Ability to juggle competing projects – excellent time management skills for coordination of multiple line renewals

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise a small staff person who is responsible for:

  • Recording costs of employee benefits and insurance risk management programs

  • Data accumulation for annual insurance underwriting – assist with purchase of insurance and coordinate data accumulation

  • Regulatory reporting including Census Bureau quarterly and annual filings, SEC reporting and USDA periodic filings

  • Tracking of actual loss experience against actuarial projections for setting IBNR

  • Perform the following:

  • Oversee and manage global insurance programs

  • Analyze optimal balance of risk transfer and risk retention

  • Manage dedicated TPA which overseas claims portfolio in excess of $100 million

  • Potentially manage captive insurance company

  • Professionally represent JBS to global insurance and alternative risk financing markets

  • Enable the business by ensuring proof of insurance is always available on-time and accurately.

  • Monitoring accruals to case, IBNR and Fixed costs incurred

  • Audit coordination over insurance and employee benefits accounts

  • Coordinate communication with Corporate and plant safety and operations personnel regarding compliance with new insurance programs

  • Coordinate access to facilities as required by insurance brokers or underwriters or safety engineering/loss prevention personnel

  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals (placements of insurance coverage) for all commercial lines of coverage

  • Assist with setting of accrual rates for all lines for following year (budgeting process)

  • Monitor IBNR

  • Evaluate usefulness of alternative risk financing vehicles such as captives/renta-captives and group captives
