University Of Northern Colorado Instructional Designer in Greeley, Colorado

Job Duties: Lead small teams that include faculty subject matter experts and a course developer in the production of fully online and hybrid course design and development projects. Using best practices of instructional design and the appropriate use of online technology to support and enhance student learning, work with subject matter experts on the design of course content, while supporting and assisting the course developer in the final production of course components. Ensure that courses meet accepted quality standards, including the alignment of course content to learning goals and objectives. Support and assist instructors and course developers in the production of course components, including the creation and implementation of elements that promote student engagement. Collaborate with instructors to understand online course delivery (teaching) needs and ensure that instructors are able to use all appropriate course delivery tools and techniques, particularly as they promote student engagement. As part of Instructional Design & Development team, complete all project and administrative-based functions and duties as assigned. Utilize skills and knowledge bases including instructional design for online learning; technical and pedagogical aspects of online learning and educational technology; evidence-based application of pedagogy; formal project management as a team leader or team member; Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard); course production tools (Articulate, Captivate); and other skills, technologies, and standards in carrying out assigned duties.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Primary Education and Experience Requirements: Master's in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or closely related field + One year (12 months') experience creating educational media and technology.

Other Special Skills or Requirements: Position also requires working knowledge (6 months' work experience or one post-secondary course using) of instructional design for online learning; technical and pedagogical aspects of online learning and educational technology; evidence-based application of pedagogy; formal project management as a team leader or team member; Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard); and course production tools (Articulate, Captivate).

Offered salary range $57,000 to $62,000 per year. Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges.
