State of Montana Children’s Advocacy Center Coordinator (00300) in Great Falls, Montana
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Child and Family Services Division. The Cascade County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) Coordinator position if responsible for all aspects of managing and maintaining the Cascade County Children’s Advocacy Center (CCCAC) a program of the Department of Public Health and Human Services, Child and Family Services Division (DPHHS/CFSD). The CAC Coordinator position collaborates with professional multidisciplinary team (MDT) member agencies which include Law Enforcement, Child Protective Services, County Prosecutor Offices, Medical Providers, Victim Advocates, and Mental Health Providers with a focus on MDT competence in evidence-based, best practice procedures for responding to child victims of violence and abuse. The CAC Coordinator position also provides case specific child and family advocacy as needed; develops and implements a strategic plan for the CAC with includes sustainability; obtains and maintains accreditation through the National Children’s Alliance; coordinates protocol development and implementation; coordinates and facilitates forensic interviews as needed; coordinates and facilitates MDT case review meetings; maintains data within the Children’s Advocacy Center model established by the National Children’s Alliance (NCA); and plans and/or identifies appropriate training for the MDT. * * Why Join DPHHS * * Our mission at DPHHS is serving Montanans in their communities to improve health, safety, well-being, and empower independence. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Knowledge of Montana’s child welfare systems including child protective services, custody law and considerations, and child support requirements. * Knowledge of local human service agencies and how agencies impact child victims and their families. * Knowledge of life impacts and manifestations of domestic violence, child development/parenting, trauma, poverty, mental illness, and grief. * Ability to advocate for clients through application of social justice principles. * Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or psychology, criminal justice or directly related field. o Two years of social services work or law enforcement experience, or directly related work experience, working with children and families in difficult and sometimes volatile situations. o Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. o Preferred Qualifications: + Child protection work experience and professional certification. + Experience working with tribal government entities and/or other organizations of native peoples is highly preferred. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
