Pillar Innovations LLC Electrical Technician II - Engineering and Automation in Grantsville, Maryland

Pillar Innovations is an Industrial Solutions and Service Company with 15 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

The general role of the Electrical Technician I - Engineering and Automation is toprovide Electrical Engineering support for a wide range of projects as they progress from concept to installation. The projects vary greatly and consist of custom electromechanical equipment, control panels, robotics, and vision systems, etc. This individual will work in conjunction with engineers and project managers as assigned. The work will be performed in the office, shop, and at customer sites as needed.

This individual possesses a general understanding of electrical principles and requires the ability to perform and lead both hands-on work in the shop or field. This position will also assist with computer design work in an office setting. This position must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include travel and overtime as needed. Overnight travel is typically on an infrequent basis.

The Electrical Technician II will report to an Engineer, Senior Engineer, Project Manager, or other Management as assigned and works primarily out of the Grantsville location.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret electrical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products
  • Gather information and pricing for the proposal process to include site visits as needed
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and purchasing to communicate and track equipment and material needs from outside vendors
  • Develop and maintain a Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects as assigned
  • Order and track materials using data sheets
  • Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
  • Lead assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and wiring in the shop
  • Develop and execute quality control standards and checklists
  • Design in 2D CAD software
  • Learn to recognize and communicate design changes to Engineers and Project Management that are not included in the Scope of Work or active Change Orders
  • Train and mentor Electrical Technician I personnel
  • Provide feedback for performance reviews as needed

Qualifications
  • Possess High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience with relevant coursework preferred
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Possess electrical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on work
  • Must be willing to attend training and remain updated regarding industry standards
  • Ability to understand and interpret scope of work for specific tasks
  • Ability to follow ork direction and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team
  • Working knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in the use of software packages such as AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design software
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to stretch current abilities to learn new skills

Working Conditions

  • Walk/use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools / Reach with hands and arms / Climb ladders and stairs / Crawl/kneel
  • Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Perform work on-site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations
