The general role of a Concrete Worker II - Concrete is to provide physical labor and general labor to the Concrete construction trade through various construction, concrete, and industrial projects. This position requires an aptitude and knowledge of concrete and construction trades and practices. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Solar, Wind Energy, etc.

This position will require a flexible schedule to include extensive travel and out-of-town work, extended hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and night shifts.

The Concrete Worker II will report to the Group Manager - Concrete Services and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

Qualifications

2+ years of concrete experience including pours, finishes, rebar, carpentry, etc. preferred General construction/mechanical knowledge and aptitude required Basic welding skills preferred Proficient with basic tools and concrete tools such as trowels, concrete saws, concrete vibrators, screeds, etc. Able to independently operate some small equipment such as forklifts, mini excavators, man lifts, skid steers, trench compactors, etc. Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain certifications relevant to the concrete industry Knowledge of basic math Ability to read tape measures accurately Ability to communicate effectively Customer Service experience desired

Respon ibilities

Perform concrete pours and finishes, rebar, masonry, and carpentry Execute technical aspects of concrete work including installing, dismantling and moving forms, mixing masonry, running vibrators, etc. Learn to read and interpret job documents such as blueprints, drawings, plans, etc. Screed by utilizing mud rakes to manage concrete consistency Place and move pump hose lines for concrete pours Provide general, manual labor to other trades as required Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Load and unload materials as required Complete site preparation tasks such as installing vapor barriers, expansion joints, burlap and soaker hoses, weatherproofing, etc. Learn to mark site layouts for footers, foundations, ditches, etc. Learn how to establish job site elevations, points, benchmarks, etc. using a variety of methods such as laser, transit, etc. Assist when needed with site safety walks and pre-job preparation to verify things such as placement of underground utilities, structures, fall risks, live wires, etc. Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and worksite in a safe and orderly manner Lead small crews as needed Obtain job-specific certifications as needed Other Duties .
