Position Summary

Position Summary

Bridgestone has business presence in more that 150 countries and employs over 135,000 team members. Bridgestone delivers a wide range of tires to customers around the world. Here in Aiken, SC, our team produces approximately 37,000 light truck and passenger tires a day for the original equipment & replacement market.

Service Technicians must be extremely flexible to support a wide range of maintenance activities. Our Service Technician become the subject matter experts in a specific production department in our plant. When problems arise with our manufacturing equipment, the Service Technician on shift will troubleshoot and repair the system as quickly as possible to maximize production up-time. The Service Technician's on days will group and perform periodic scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on all manufacturing equipment. This facility operates on a 24/7 basis. Candidates will be assigned either day or rotating shifts.

Day Shift:

Approximately half of the service technicians are working a M-F 6:15am-2:45pm (1/2hr. unpaid lunch) schedule with some overtime.

Rotating Shift:

Day = 6:15 A.M. to 6:45 P.M. with 30 min. unpaid lunch

Night = 6:15 P.M. to 6:45 A.M. with 30 min. unpaid lunch

Competitive Compensation

Service Technicians have starting wages between $32-$37 per hour depending on experience and the opportunity to progress their hourly rate to expert level at $39/hr. Our Service Technicians have been receiving a weekly results sharing bonus since the start of our facility in 1998.

2022 Averages in Pay w/ Variable Bonus Plan

Fully Skilled- Base Pay $39/hr plus Result Sharing $5.05 /hr = $44.05/hr

Entry Level- Base Pay $32/hr plus Results Sharing $4.1/hr= $36.15/hr

Responsibilities

  • Be Safe- comply with all safety regulations

  • Partner with Engineering team to install, test, and release equipment

  • Knowledge of recording activities in a CMMS

  • Maintain equipment for industrial production, industrial processing, pipeline distribution systems, and conveyors

  • Various PLC's

  • Networking and Communications: EtherNet / IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet

  • AC Drives, Motors, Encoder and Resolver troubleshooting

  • Calibration of flow, level, pressure, and temperature devices and loops

  • Familiar with bearings, conveying systems, gearboxes, equipment rebuilds, and repairs.

  • Familiar with automation and distributed control system architectures within manufacturing and processing systems.

  • Familiar with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.

  • Read and use blueprints, schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, test results, machine error messages.

  • Inspect parts for damage/wear

  • Test and observe running machinery

  • Use hoists and lifts, grinders, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, testing equipment, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be a team player interested in helping others and a self starter

Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. holidays, and overtime.

Candidates must have multi-craft experience in Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics. PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.

Associates degree in Electronics, General Technology, Robotics or related field and at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience

OR

Completion of an apprenticeship program and at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience

OR

At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
