Description
Purpose/Scope:
The Maintenance Manager leads a team of maintenance technicians to safely demonstrate continuous improvement in asset reliability and reduce manufacturing delays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure maintenance department activities exceed company safety, health and environmental standards
Lead a team of maintenance professionals through proactive coaching, training and development, and daily direction of activities
Establish Preventive Maintenance routines for a variety of fixed and mobile manufacturing equipment and support Predictive Maintenance (Pd.M.) routines
Manage work order system to include screening incoming work orders, planning and executing systems and processes
Maintain real time CMMS data and updates to work order status
Plan and execute breakdown and emergency work by coordinating necessary personnel, parts, tools and equipment

Lead or participate in failure analysis and corrective action planning related to equipment breakdowns
Communicate maintenance status, plans and results with team members and plant leadership
Manage spare parts and consumables inventories
Manage the annual maintenance budget
Coordinate improvement projects with Plant Engineer and Plant Director
Ensure continuous improvement in achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Basic Qualifications:
Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent
Three (3) or more years as a maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment with demonstrated leadership experience
Other Required Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, conveyor and auger systems, air systems, water systems, overhead cranes and wheeled vehicles
Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, schematics and blue prints
Skilled in problem solving, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Ability to work varied shift schedules and start times based on business needs
Experience with Preventative Maintenance programs
Experience with Production/Maintenance reporting systems
Must be proficient with computer:
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Project Management Software (Project, Primavera, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Four (4) year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Five (5) or more years as leading a team as a maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment
Physical Requirements:
- Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection
Work Environment:
- Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
