Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of Slot Attendants and Leads during assigned shift.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervises, trains, counsels, and evaluates Slot department staff during assigned shift.
Monitors Slot Leads, Slot Attendants, and players.
Utilizes gaming system and other software to verify and process jackpots, short pays and research and resolve any lost ticket issues or guest disputes.
Monitors play, employee activities and other elements of slot gaming integrity.
Coordinates with Security and Surveillance to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage slot machines and to identify floor irregularities.
Promotes and develops additional clientele base by walking the floor, engaging the players and providing information on the players club. Learns the names of significant players and interacts with them to promote player development.
Promotes guest service standards, ensures that Slot employees under their supervision provide excellent guest service.
Responds to complaints, mediates disputes, and provides professional and positive guest interactions.
Assists in developing new department policies and procedures
Records and Tracks short pays on computerized log.
Tracks and reports guest head counts to Slot Management and uses this information to assess staffing levels and scheduling.
Provides recommendations to the Shift Supervisors to improve efficiency and operations of the department.
Works with other department personnel to ensure effective operations and communications.
Due to Spirit Mountain Casino being a 24 hour, 7 day a week business, this position will require that the employee be available to work during various shifts including holidays as business needs dictate.

Interviews and verifies that front line staff have proper training

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and in alignment with SMGI’s Pride Values, Brand Promise and Business Vision.
Plans, assigns, and directs work, appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems for employees as well as guests.
Makes recommendations to the Shift Supervisors and Slot Management for hiring and staff separations in accordance with company policies.
Required Knowledge of:

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and two (2) years slot gaming work experience, including one (1) year supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Candidates being considered for this position will be assessed on the following: Basic Office skills, Customer Service Mindset, the basic operation of Microsoft Word and Excel, typing and memo writing, and completing an employee evaluation.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a gaming environment, routinely subjected to tobacco smoke and loud noise.
Work is subject to routinely sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting up to 100 pounds.
Work is subject to frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
- Equipment utilized includes personal computer, standard office equipment, telephone, two way radio and supplies and materials used in slot machine gaming.
