Aerotek Service Technician in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Title: Elevator Technician

Job Description

This individual will be responsible for traveling to various facilities regionally (Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana). The majority of work is in the commercial setting but some residential work is also included. This individual would support the Grand Rapids Shop. They only work M-F but they can be gone 3-4 days at a given time to complete the projects. All travel costs (food, gas, and stay) are covered. They will use a company vehicle to travel to various locations and work in teams. The majority of the work consists of installation, tear-downs, repairs, maintenance, and scheduled service of various machinery and equipment at client sites. Most work is in commercial settings. Examples of service will range from checking safety circuits and fire service testing, repairing open relays, PLC troubleshooting, and maintenance and repairs of motors, including tear-downs and replacements

1st Shift: Hours are typically 7-3:30 PM M-F. With that being said, due to the nature of the business, there will be times they will have to stay late to complete a project due to project deadlines. So they need to understand that from time to time they need to work later.

Hard Skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment

The work environment will vary based on client site, with travel approximately 50% of the job. Individuals will be responsible for working in industrial environments such as a paper mill, commercial environments such as office buildings, and new construction. This individual must be available for field service work and the ability to work in various locations based on work orders.
