Corewell Health Registered Polysomnographic Technologist in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Summary

Provides physicians and patients with support needed to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and the promotion of good sleep.

This position will work at 2 locations, primarily -

  • 4069 Lake Drive

  • 35 Michigan

Essential Functions

  • Performs diagnostic sleep testing, including but not limited to order interpretation, medication administration, patient hook-up and monitoring, BLS responsibility, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration, oxygen administration, and other related duties.

  • Analyzes data collected during sleep testing, including but not limited to staging, calculation of appropriate indices, and other related activities.

  • Documents findings / patient responses in a manner consistent with documentation guidelines.

  • Maintains equipment for proper function and operation.

  • Evaluates patients' and significant others' educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or makes appropriate referrals.

  • Mentors polysomnographic technicians with regard to all aspects of sleep medicine. Validates ten percent of scoring performed by polysomnographic technicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • CRT- Polysomnographic Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) required upon hire

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross required within first 90 days
