Position Description:

 

We are looking for a Professional Landscape Architect to join our Community Design Team to improve infrastructure in our Detroit or Grand Rapids, MI office. The candidate must have Professional Landscape Architect license, a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture and have at least ten years of related experience, with a strong design background. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:

Typical responsibilities include:

- - Perform technical design of job (urban design, public space design, land development, - recreation projects, etc.) from schematic design through construction document phase - Develop design plans for urban planning, park, and urban design projects - Articulate ideas through hand sketching and delineation - Perform the required evaluation, selection, and modification of standard techniques, - procedures, and criteria to meet the project needs - Prepare renderings, maps, and report graphics - Perform site analysis - Prepare construction documents - Assist in master plan analysis - Assist in writing proposals and technical presentations - Deliver presentations at public meetings - Research existing land use - Prepare project specifications - Research and complete permits as necessary - Estimate construction costs - Document design changes and communications - Attend council or commission meetings - Observe work in progress on-site as needed - Prepare design cost estimates - Prepare project status reports - Attend various meetings (client, pre-design, pre-construction, staff, public, etc.) - Maintain excellent client relations - Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

- - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture required

Skills/Experience:

- -  10 years of related experience required - Professional Landscape Architect (RLA) or equivalent license required
