UFP Technologies Production Operator in Grand Rapids, Michigan
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | * * | | | | SUMMARY | | | | Working individually or in teams or cells, an Operator II is | | responsible for accurately and efficiently operating equipment and | | performing duties required to produce products that meet customer | | quality, delivery schedules and cost standards, while following all | | safety policies. He / she completes documentation in accordance with | | existing policies and procedures and participates in continuous | | improvement activities. Operates complex machinery with minimal | | supervision. Supports training and development of team members based | | on his/her demonstrated performance qualifications. Supports set-up | | of complex equipment as required including but not limited to | | verification of capability to meet customer requirements on | | completion of set-up. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | | | ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | | | | - Performs production operations including but not limited to | | assembly using heat guns, machining operations using heat guns, | | press, saws, hot wire equipment, ovens, water jets, laminating | | and routing equipment as well as complex machinery as required. | | | | {=html} | | | | | | - Understands and completes process documentation including but not | | limited to production orders and travelers, to ensure compliance | | to customer requirements. | | - Monitors operations to ensure quality and productivity | | requirements are achieved. | | - Provides training support as requested by team leader or | | supervisor. | | - Visually reviews and inspects parts for non-conformance to | | customer specifications. | | - Monitors operations to ensure quality and productivity match | | documented work instructions and may make corrective decisions | | regarding a process or machines capability to meet requirements, | | as requested. | | - Reports discrepancies to team leader or supervisor. | | - Participates in the identification and implementation of | | corrective actions. | | - Performs set-up of complex machinery and is able to determine | | capability to meet customer requirements. | | - May be required to complete die changes and tooling changes. | | | | · Performs all other duties as assigned or needed. | | | | | +------------------------------- ---------------------------------------+ | QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS | | | | - High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience plus experience | | as an Operator 1. | | - General manufacturing skills, blue print reading, intermediate | | math skills, measurement and standard metrics and basic computer | | skills. | | - Demonstrated ability to set-up and run more complex machinery. | | | | | | | | Note: Job level progression is dependent on the following: an | | approved position based on business needs; employee's demonstrated | | performance of skill, knowledge and ability as described in the most | | current ISO Training and Procedural Documents; and attainment of | | required years of experience and or certificates/licensure. | | | | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
