Corewell Health Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Critical Care Transport, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Join our new Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, comprised of dedicated Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, and Respiratory Therapists. Together we will play a crucial role in providing specialized pre-hospital (interfacility) care to ensure the safe ground transfer of pediatric patients across Michigan to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

As a member of the team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of pediatric patients, and hybrid roles that support the pediatric and cardiac intensive care unit.

  • Full time opportunity with Variable shifts (nights, weekends)

  • Pediatric Critical Care experience preferred

  • Coordination of comprehensive care to ensure continuity of care and continuation of services

  • Ensures that operations are in compliance with professional standards, applicable laws, accreditation, compliance/regulatory requirements and that organizational goals are being followed. Practices in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code.

  • Delivers care in a manner that is culturally sensitive and preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Acts as a patient advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet patient needs

  • Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant to other members of the health care team within and outside Corewell Health. Acts as a consult in area of expertise.

  • Delivers care in a manner that is culturally sensitive and preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Acts as a patient advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet patient needs

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission

  • 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience

  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner

  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire

  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association

  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association

  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association

  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association

Physician Assistant:

  • Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program

  • LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan Upon Hire

  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days

  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association

  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association

  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association
