* As the Payroll & Benefits Administrator, you will:*

  • Process employee payroll according to best practices, company policy, and state and federal laws
  • Promptly and professionally respond to employee and supervisor payroll and timecard questions
  • Serve as a primary resource for payroll-related employee updates, providing necessary forms and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Update employee records within the HRIS, ensuring all changes align with supporting documentation
  • Review employee timecards and address potential discrepancies with assigned supervisors
  • Verify and respond to agency requests, including VOEs and employee garnishments
  • Review and respond to payroll tax notifications from state and federal entities, working with the payroll provider to address discrepancies
  • Create and run reports from the HRIS, as requested by Human Resources
  • Assist with adding new employee data into HRIS and time clock, verifying that entries align with applicable forms and documentation
  • Compile and review data for annual reporting and audits, including but not limited to: 401k annual testing and audit, annual workers compensation audit, and ACA reporting
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of employee benefit invoices, addressing discrepancies that may arise
  • Monitor and audit employee payroll deductions and 401k deferral rates for accuracy
  • Complete post-payroll administrative tasks, including deposit of 401k and HSA employee contributions, ensuring amounts reconcile with payroll totals
  • Assist in maintaining payroll and benefit reconciliation work instructions, as needed
  • Keep apprised of federal and state wage, hour, and benefit laws to ensure company compliance
  • Monitor COBRA reports for mailing confirmations, enrollments, payment reconciliation, and removals
  • Assist the HR team with annual benefit open enrollment, including enrollment support and audit of employee elections
  • Assist the HR team in maintaining employee records and filing
  • Reconcile and distribute employee W-2s and other required payroll notices
  • Keep apprised of HRIS system updates, alerting the HR team of important changes, alerts, and useful tools
  • Recommend and execute best practices for payroll and benefits administration, looking for ways to streamline processes and maintain compliance
  • Assist in other HR-related administrative tasks and projects, as assigned
