Location: Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL
This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids or Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Computing, Networking & Mission Systems (CNMS) Strategic Business Operations Manager to drive growth, enterprise problem solving, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will leverage both long-term and short-term strategies to identify key areas of strategic growth, support campaign strategies, and lead the implementation of the FLIGHT DECK system in both development and productions efforts. This role will also focus on managing the NPI (New Product Introduction) program process and ensure a smooth transition to production, while supporting various business operations and GE process adherence
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic plans to creatively grow the CNMS portfolio working closely with key stakeholders on new opportunity creation.
NPI Program Management: Coordinate CNMS efforts to identify and implement New Product Introduction (NPI) program execution process improvements with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration, program execution excellence and transition to production.
FLIGHT DECK Lean Implementation: Serve as the CNMS lead for FLIGHT DECK lean implementation, aimed at identifying and developing key P&L challenges.
Identify and champion key action planning and problem-solving efforts and business implementation initiatives.
Business Operations Support: Support CNMS business operations including WOR (Weekly Operating Review), MOR (Monthly Operating Review), staff events, and adherence to GE processes.
Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior Leaders and stakeholders on P&L program status, business performance, and key issues/action planning.
Establish and monitor CNMS key performance indicators (KPIs) to track program progress and drive continuous improvement.
Financials: Accountable for coordinating business case financials and revenue/profit/cash forecasts with CNMS and Avionics Finance partners to support quarterly and annual strategic planning process.
Communication and Negotiation: Communicate complex messages and negotiate internally to adopt different points of view. Influence peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Program Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic planning, program management, business operations, or a related role within the aerospace or a related industry.
US Citizen: This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Desired Characteristics
Master's degree preferred.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of NPI processes, development production ramp-up, and manufacturing operations.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Experience with lean principles and methodologies.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with military and defense stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Proficiency in program management software and tools and process. EVMS experience desired.
Experience working with military and defense agencies such as the Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, or other relevant entities.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Active US DoD Security Clearance desired
