Job Title: Civil Design Engineer
Job Description
The Civil Design Engineer will specialize in a variety of land development projects, including site planning, stormwater management design, utility design, and site development. The role involves design and permitting for development projects around West Michigan, encompassing commercial buildings, private roads, retail, and institutional projects.
Responsibilities
Plan and develop site plans, including grading, drainage, zoning, and utilities.
Prepare project drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Create schematic designs and drawings, layouts, drafting, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Evaluate land use and zoning requirements, including zoning ordinances and site plan approval.
Prepare permit applications and facilitate agency reviews and approvals.
Conduct site visits during the construction phase of projects.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in civil design for development projects.
Proficiency in Civil 3D.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering, land development, site development, civil design, drainage, grading, and stormwater management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PE License or EIT.
Experience in Civil Engineering Project Management.
Experience with proposals, RFIs, or project planning.
