Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a CNC Operator III who will play a critical role in our manufacturing process by setting up, operating, and programming advanced CNC machines. You will work with a variety of materials and complex parts, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and production deadlines. This position requires expertise in CNC machining, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a dedication to producing exceptional work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and prepare CNC machines, including tooling selection, fixture setup, and programming, to produce precision components

  • Operate CNC machines to fabricate parts, monitoring machine performance, making adjustments, and ensuring the production of accurate and high-quality components

  • Develop and edit CNC programs using G-code and CAM software, optimizing toolpaths for efficiency and quality

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines and tooling, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues

  • Maintain accurate records of machine setup, production data, and quality checks, and report any deviations or issues to the supervisor

  • Provide training and guidance to junior machinists as necessary to enhance their skills and knowledge

  • Expertly set up CNC machines, including loading tools, fixtures, and materials. Verify machine settings and program parameters for accuracy

  • Accurately document and maintain production records, including part counts, machine logs, and quality control data

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience as a CNC Operator, with at least 5 years of experience in CNC machining operations

  • Proficiency in CNC programming, including the ability to develop, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs. Knowledge of G-code and CAM software is essential

  • Advanced understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and CNC machine operation

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate seamlessly within a team

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend shifts as required

  • Dedication to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment

  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Monday through Friday, 11:00pm to 7:00am

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may require hearing protection in specific locations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
