Responsibilities
Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines.
Properly measures, portions, and prepares all food items per standards.
Maintains food, utensils and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations.
Communicates with chef for any special instructions or training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prior food preparation experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and basic math skills to portion and measure ingredients.
Ability to use knives and kitchen tools safely and efficiently.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectivley to work independently and in a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach for entire length of shift.
Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp objects, chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids.
Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders while working in a hot and damp kitchen environment.
Exposure to kitchen dangers such as cuts, scrapes, burns, scalds, slips and falls.
Use of and exposure to chemicals required to clean and sanitize areas, surfaces and equipment.
