Actalent Project Architect in Goshen, New York

Job Title: Architect

Job Description

This position requires the candidate to be part of a project team and to work individually at times, while having the support and resources of a large, experienced team of design professionals. You must be proficient in communicating project requirements, be experienced in managing projects, be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT, be detailed oriented, and have exceptional organizational skills. The position will require you to meet with clients, contractors, in-house staff, and consultants; necessitating strong communication skills. This opportunity affords a dynamic role, working with all disciplines of the A/E industry on an array of projects for various market segments.

Responsibilities

  • Act as project manager, providing project team direction, scheduling, assessing project budgets, and meeting deliverable milestones.

  • Manage small teams of architects, designers, and/or draftspeople.

  • Participate in the conceptual development of project designs and drawings for design presentations.

  • Assist with referendum planning efforts for various Boards of Education and prepare NYSED project forms.

  • Visit job sites to survey existing conditions, develop existing condition plans, take photographs, and prepare field memos to document existing conditions and observations.

  • Prepare project reports, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and other documents required for various project phases.

  • Develop architectural schematic design and construction documents in REVIT and AutoCAD.

  • Communicate and coordinate with design team members, architects, management, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, and other consultants throughout all phases of the design and construction process.

  • Attend various meetings, including pre-design, plan review, pre-construction, and professional organizations.

  • Prioritize effectively and adjust work accordingly to meet deadlines.

  • Manage the construction administration process and/or work with the in-house construction administration team from the award of the contract through project close-out.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the AE industry.

  • Experienced in K-12, Higher Education, and Municipal Projects.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture.

  • Licensed Architect or design professional on path to licensure.

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience in referendum planning and preparing NYSED project forms.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working full-time in the office located in the middle of the village in Goshen, NY, with walking distance to restaurants and public transportation. Field visits are required as needed. The company employs over 130 professionals across three states and five offices.
