Job Title: Operator Technician
Job Description
Seeking a 1st shift Operator Technician with a pathway to becoming a Maintenance Technician. Start as a Finish Technician responsible for setting up machines and being the first responder to machine malfunctions within a specific department. Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to troubleshoot and repair issues, and educate other operators to avoid repetitive machine errors.
Responsibilities
Set up finishing machines.
Respond to and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
Partner with Maintenance Technicians for advanced troubleshooting and repairs.
Educate and guide operators to prevent repetitive machine errors.
Monitor all equipment within the department.
Communicate professionally and respond appropriately to radio calls.
Work with hydraulic/pneumatic pumps, spray guns/hoses/booths, conveyors/elevators, ovens, sealers/sanders, belts, pulleys, brushes, motors, bearings, valves, rollers, etc.
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude.
Basic understanding of electrical systems.
Ability to work overtime and in other areas when needed.
Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Mechanical troubleshooting skills (pumps, spray guns, hoses, belts, brushes, PMs).
Physically able to maneuver 300-pound stain barrels.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Customer service mindset.
Basic electrical understanding (knowledge of 480V systems, LOTO procedures).
Mechanically inclined with a background in machine operating/setup.
