Crops: Green/Red Romaine, Green/Red Oak, Green/Red Leaf, Mizuna, Arugula, Green/Red Chard, Tatsoi, Spinach, Kale, Culinary Herbs, Microgreens. This job order is for 44-2091 Agricultral Equipment Operators: Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil; planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. Workers will use mechanized and power-driven equipment such as tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivator, and other equipment to plant, cultivate, harvest, and irrigate crops. Workers will be expected to be able to operate agricultural equipment with or without direct. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions, communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex, or non-routine activities will be supervised. Field workers will be expected to perform their general duties in a timely and proficient manner. Workers must obey all safety rules and basic instructions and be able to recognize, understand, and comply with safety, pesticide warning/reentry and other essential postings. Works with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but no limited to Driving while intoxicated or reckless driving) and able to obtain an insurable drivers license may be required to drive company vehicles. The job requires a minimum of 3 months of verifiable commercial agricultural employment experience as a driver with a class B Drivers License with passenger Endorsements or a licencia Federal de Conductor Clase A, preferably on a vegetable farm, handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency. This is hard, strenuous labor, under cold, wet conditions in the spring and extreme heat and humidity in the summer. Workers will transport passengers to and from work each day from housing. Drivers will transport workers to and from housing to local grocery store weekly for grocery purchases. The drivers will return to the worksite each day. May be asked to log times in and out for workers. Arrange to pick up particular groups on a regular schedule. Check the condition of a vehicles tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations. Notify mechanics of vehicle problems. Perform minor vehicle repairs, such as cleaning spark plugs, or take vehicles to mechanics for servicing. Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as regulating tire pressure or trips, hours worked, milage, fuel consumption, or fares received. Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort. Report any vehicles malfunctions or needed repairs. Test vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation. Workers may be required also to perform duties such as: Harvest crops by hand and work in the fields for long periods of time. Workers will work in the packing house packing vegetables

Workers may be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of herbs and vegetables. Workers may be required to manually plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables such as: Green/Red Romaine, Green/Red Oak, Green/Red Leaf,\ Mizuna, Arugula, Green/Red Chard, Tatsoi, Spinach, Kale as well as other types of vegetables, lettuce crops, Culinary Herbs, Microgreens and other field crops. Workers will be required to use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers,\ pruning hooks, shears and knives. Duties may include tilling so l and applying fertilizers, transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops, applying pesticides, or cleaning, grading, sorting, packing and loading harvested products. Drivers may be\ required to assist with farm building and field maintenance, repair fences, and / or repair or cover hoop houses. Workers may be asked to perform irrigation activities such as placing irrigation pipes and fittings. There is a considerable amount of stooping\ and kneeling throughout the various tasks being performed. Care must be taken to prevent damaging produce and plants. Workers will be required to dig and prepare ground, till soil and prepare field or planting, plant pots in fields, remove broken or\ damaged poles and install new poles (hoop houses), manually remove weeds by hand or with digging tools. Workers may be asked to spread plastic or cover crops with netting materials or plastic and remove them when no longer needed by hand or machine. Workers may be asked to pack crops in totes, bins, clamshells, tie or bundle items, weigh product and load product by hand.\ Workers may be asked to install and maintain irrigation systems and water lines. Move and install irrigation pipes and equipment, and remove drip tubing or install drip tubing, dig, and maintain ditches. When work is performed in the field workers must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or another durable footwear.
