Need 120 full time, temporary, seasonal Nursery Workers to work in Inver Grove Heights, Cottage Grove, Hastings, and Lake Elmo, MN. From: 03/01/2024 to 12/01/2024 Work: 40 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day Possible shift: 8:00AM-5:00PM. JOB DUTIES: Duties may include: Work in a nursery production and greenhouse production environment preparing nursery stock and greenhouse crops. Planting, seeding, propagating, cultivating, watering, spacing, fertilizing, staking and pruning of crops produced. Covering and uncovering nursery stock to protect it from inclement weather. General maintenance of crops on site, including through chemical application and manual weed pulling. Maintenance of production records. Driving tractors, tugs or trucks to move plants from one production area to another. Loading and unloading nursery stock and greenhouse crops and assisting in shipping products. General maintenance of all areas and infrastructure involved in crop production, including potting fields, input and tool storage areas and loading docks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Cell Phone use during work hours (outside of employer-designated break periods) is strictly prohibited. Drug/alcohol/tobacco-free workplace. JOB REQUIREMENTS: must be 18 years old; must have 3 months Nursery and Greenhouse Worker experience; must be able to lift, push, pull, unload, and carry up to 60 lbs. Valid U.S Driver's License. Able to perform work in extreme temperatures; able to climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, and perform repetitive movements. Possible random drug/alcohol testing post hire at employer's expense: positive test or refusal to abide will result in dismissal. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
