B luePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN i s hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team .

A BluePearl Surgery Technician is responsible for some post-operative client communication and must be able to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal. Prefer to have a minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital. A rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed.
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will:
Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
Utilize your ability to place IV catheters and urinary catheters.
Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratoryrateand effort.
Understands normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
Set up IV fluids and constant rate infusions.
Set up and oversee blood transfusions for critically ill patients.
Assist our highly qualified team, including board certified surgeons, in performing a wide range of highly advanced surgical care. Some examples include TPLO, FHO, total hip, fracture repairs, splenectomy, lung lobectomy, GDV, and C-section.
Monitor up to and including ASA 5 and E patients.
Independently run CT scans.
Place and maintain feeding tubes, drains, PICC line catheters, and central line catheters.
Perform local blocks.
Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R (basic and advanced) CPR guidelines. ALS and BLS certification is provided at no-cost to you.

Pay: $22.15 - $32.00 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system .
* Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience*
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends and on-call pay.
