SAP Cloud Software Developer Intern at Kyma Open Source in Gliwice, Poland

This is a paid internship placement that provides students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.

ABOUT OUR PRODUCT

You will become a member of a product development scrum team working on the open-source solution Kyma. You will support your colleagues in the implementation of tasks from the team backlog. You will participate in team meetings, such as planning, retrospective, or daily stand-ups. As a student, your working hours will be flexible, but we count on you to work 20 hours per week.

Kyma (https://kyma-project.io/) is an open-source product that allows you to quickly start developing cloud-native applications with Kubernetes and combine legacy monolithic systems with the cloud-native world and microservices.

Our teams built Kyma from scratch. We have a real say in what Kyma architecture looks like and which technologies are used.

If you want to be a part of this project but feel like you're not a cloud expert yet, don't worry. We'll show you the ropes and teach you everything with our experts around the world to rapidly develop your skills.

ABOUT THE WORK

In this position, you'll get new experiences and skills, especially through:

  • Developing Cloud Native application in Go (you can learn Go with us),

  • Contributing to open-source projects,

  • Working on a large-scale distributed system using microservices and a service mesh which are all based on containers,

  • Creating and maintaining full automation of testing and release processes,

  • Deploying products to cloud environments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current enrollment at a university; preferred field(s) of study: computer science, software engineering or equivalent,

  • Development skills in one (or more) of modern programming languages: Go, C#, Java, Python, Kotlin, etc.,

  • Openness to learn new programming languages and cloud-oriented technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes,

  • Passion for cloud programming combined with willingness to learn new technologies,

  • Good communication skills and communicative English; proficient Polish would be an advantage.

The preselected candidates will be invited to pass a technical test. If you receive the invitation, please select one programming language (for example Java, Python, C# or Go).
