City Of Glenwood Springs Maintenance Supervisor in Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Position Summary: Supervise Maintenance and Building Services personnel assigned to all City facilities in Zone B. Performs semiskilled and skilled work in the care, maintenance and improvements of all City facilities. Essential Functions: Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and initiates discipline of part-time and full-time staff. Develops work schedules and coordinates workloads for staff for the purpose of ensuring efficient services and coverage at all facilities. Ensures safety procedures are followed; documents, reports, and/or corrects any infractions. Promotes professional growth and ensuring adherence to City standards. Performs special projects as directed, including organizing work crews and contractors as needed. Assists with meeting room setup, take down, and clean-up. Over sees facility functions, opens, and closes facility as directed. Receive instructions and technical advice from Facilities Superintendent Assists with room set up and equipment set up for City Hall, Community Arts Center, general events. Perform walk through inspections of facility and rooms, checks for damages, inventories all equipment, and provide maintenance recommendations for continued operations. Report and respond to all maintenance and janitorial requests as needed. Perform trash removal, cleaning in times of staff shortages. Perform simple construction and repairs utilizing such skill as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC trouble shooting. Assist city personnel and performs light construction. Perform snow removal duties at various city facilities utilizing various machinery and hand tools. Work with and direct contractors in capital projects and ongoing general maintenance. Performs other tasks as directed. Expected to work in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to prioritize and accomplish work in a busy, ever-changing environment. Ability to cooperate with all city employees to foster a positive team atmosphere. Ability to gain knowledge of all rules and policies as established; enforce those rules in a professional and courteous manner.

Education, Training & Certifications: Necessary: High School diploma or equivalent. CPR and First aid must be attained withing 6 months or hire. 3 Years of Facility Maintenance, property management, or related experience. Minimum one year of supervisory experience. Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred. Valid Colorado License Must be able to work independently or as a team. Requires working evenings, weekends, holidays, or other special hours for special events, seasonal weekend coverage, and may be used for on-call rotation for snow removal and construction management.

Desired: Knowledge of Time Clock Software systems Knowledge of work management software Associates degree or higher in Facility or Business Management, Public Administration, or related field. Municipal, commercial, or property management operations experience desirable.
