Olivia from Robert Half is hiring for an IT Systems Specialist in Glens Falls, New York. The role involves maintaining and improving systems' security and efficiency, including firewalls, servers, and virtualization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is proficient in Linux and Microsoft Servers and has experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the security of our systems, including firewalls and switches.

• Troubleshoot any system issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

• Manage and monitor our virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.

• Utilize ERP systems efficiently, contributing to the improvement of our business processes.

• Handle Linux and Microsoft servers, ensuring their smooth operation.

• Familiarize with SQL and use it to manage and manipulate our databases.

• Act independently but also lean on over-arching IT department when necessary for certain tasks.

• Handle computer hardware issues, ensuring all our equipment is in good working condition.

• Utilize your skills in MS SQL Server to manage and analyze our data.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Systems Administrator role or similar.

• Proficiency in database management and maintenance.

• Experience with Backup Technologies for data recovery and protection.

• Strong understanding of Computer Hardware and ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.

• Proficiency in Linux systems administration, including system setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Server and MS SQL Server.

• Experience with Cloud ERP systems, with a focus on implementation, management, and troubleshooting.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.

• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex IT concepts to non-technical colleagues.

• Professional certifications in related fields are preferred but not mandatory.
