A wonderful opportunity for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a Hospital/mid-tier referral practice in Leicester!

Here's a bit more about us https://vimeo.com/834430173 .

Your role and responsibilities

The role involves consulting and operating in equal measure together with the possibility of being on the inpatient rota at Glenfield if this is an area of interest.

We are keen to support certificates for our associates, where we can for personal and business development. We understand the need to be flexible with working hours and are open to discussing the ideal role for you. We welcome full and part-time applications and also have several clinics around the Leicester area so would welcome applications from those who may be interested in one of our other sites.

About us

The Park Vet Group was established over 100 years ago and is now a fully RCVS accredited multi-site, primary care and mid-tier referral practice. With sites in Whetstone, Glenfield, Saffron Lane & Scraptoft Lane, all our practices are self-sufficient and are fully equipped, but we like to share best-practice and work as a big team.

Our Glenfield Tier 3 RCVS accredited Hospital has a CT machine, video endoscopy, ASIF kit, TPLO/TTA/Tightrope, arthroscopy, Phacoemulsification and advanced ophthalmology equipment, dedicated 24 hour nursing and vet teams, in addition to the equipment that all of our sites have such as digital x-ray, quality ultrasound, dental equipment, in house labs, dedicated operating theatres, and carry out all standard primary care procedures daily.

Our sites run independently and see their own varied caseloads. We have certificate holders in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and emergency critical care. We have a dedicated 24/7 emergency hospital service, at the Glenfield Hospital.

As an Associate at The Park Vet Group, you will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic, large, team of vets across our sites. Across the group we also have an experienced nursing team (including two surgical diploma holders) & a wonderful client care team who support us daily.

Here at The Park Vet Group, we offer some fantastic referral, OOH, and advanced services, but we equally champion our primary care vets, and the fantastic service we offer for routine and first opinion caseloads.

As a team, we often discuss clinical cases and have monthly team meetings to share knowledge and communications.

We work closely with Willows, a local referral centre, to run additional in-house CPD events. We enjoy socialising events outside of work too, when possible. It is fair to say that we all get on well as a team and enjoy our working days together. We have a real team spirit, and any new associates will be warmly welcomed.

Our variety of experience levels means that we have been able to offer a fantastic new graduate programme that offers great support. We are a nurse training practice and work closely with local universities & training colleges too. We, therefore, have plenty of opportunities for mentoring if this is something you enjoy.

In your spare time, there is a lot to enjoy locally. The Park Vet Group is based in the wonderful city of Leicester which is the largest city in the East Midlands. We have excellent travel links, access to good schools and beautiful countryside. Leicester is a modern city steeped in years of history and there is lots to do locally whether you enjoy the great outdoors or prefer the hustle and bustle of the city.
