Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution Sr. Technical Program Manager in Glendale, California
Within the Business Operations organization the Senior Program Manager for Advertising Platforms is responsible for managing small through large-scale, complex projects in the Advertising Platforms area from initiation through closure. These initiatives involve daily hands-on management of technology activities utilizing Agile and Scrum based software development practices; and includes working cross-functionally with multiple technical teams to effectively deliver business solutions. This role requires leadership competencies, technical (PM) experience, and communications skills. The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for managing projects using DMED processes, tools and methodologies; this includes the development of the scope of work and the management of time, work-breakdown, cost, risk, and communications.
Program Manager Accountabilities:
• Accountable for driving execution and delivery of extraordinarily high-profile technical, product or software development projects from start to finish. Projects assigned to this level tend to be of the highest complexity and strategic priority.
• Performs all other responsibilities of a Program Manager at an expert level, plus:
• Forecasts project risks proactively; analyzes and communicates prioritized mitigation plans to stakeholders
• Understands all project domain components, including architecture, tools and deployment practices that development team is employing; can explain the purpose of component decisions at a high level
• Accountable for driving execution and delivery of highly complex technical programs from start to finish
• Performs all other responsibilities of a Program Manager at an expert level, plus:
• Assists in triage of other projects or programs and makes recommendations to senior-level leadership
• Serves as subject matter expert and "go to" person for guidance in program management discipline
• May Manage smaller teams of professional employees related to area of focus or expertise
• Defines, optimizes, and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes at the team-of-teams level
Communications / Interactions:
• Interacts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology / business solutions
• Presents issues to and works with management and executive leadership to resolve critical resource conflicts
• Demonstrates expertise in technical project/program domain and able to confidently discuss with project team, neighbors, and stakeholders, including translating technical domain details to executive leadership
Responsibilities :
Own the creation and execution of program roadmaps, timing, and delivery
Partner with Engineering and Product Management to translate requirements and specifications to comprehensive execution plans
Scope projects into manageable chunks that enable us to quickly and efficiently meet iterative milestones
Work with multiple engineering teams across disparate workstreams to track progress for large initiatives related to your projects in a manner easily consumable by all partners
Understand the fundamentals of DMED Technology’s Ad Platforms business and systems and development priorities to reduce delivery delays due to conflicting priorities and business needs
Author detailed reports for program status, schedules, task assignments, risks
Investigate, track, and resolve open issues for any given project through clear communication with a wide array of partners
Participate in and lead investigations to understand, mitigate, and prevent quality issues
Identify inefficiencies in processes, and innovate with better, more efficient processes where needed for projects to be delivered effectively and on time.

Basic Qualifications :
8+ years of experience in software program management
3+ years of experience in an ad tech environment
0-3 years of management experience
Experience in shipping multiple features or products simultaneously
Experience in Agile software development
Solid understanding of systems architecture, design, and implementation
Ability to actively identify dependencies/risks and work with engineering counterparts to mitigate these
Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical partners
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with ad serving systems
Experience shipping entertainment and media applications for Xbox, PlayStation, Roku, Fire TV, SmartTVs, mobile phones or similar devices.
Required Education :
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required
