Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Steward Supervisor is to supervise and perform duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Maintain work area, including all counter tops, utensils, equipment, garbage, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with state, county, and company health regulations and work safety regulations.
Work Performed:
The Steward Supervisor will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:
Schedules the Stewarding team based on event needs.
Supervise and train stewarding associates.
Oversees/Cleans and maintains all storage/preparation/cooking areas and equipment, ensuring that they are kept at the highest level of sanitation and quality.
Operates/maintains dishwashing equipment properly to provide clean, sanitized dishware, glass, and silver.
Supervises/sorts/washes/stores all dishware, glassware, silverware, service wares, pots, pans, and utensils.
Monitors/Operates floor cleaning equipment and maintains resilient floor surfaces.
Ensures the removal of all trash from kitchen areas and operates garbage disposal and trash compactor.
Maintains control over all dishware, glass, silver, cookware, and service equipment inventories.
Assists in food service set up of banquet areas prior to the function (dishware, hot boxes, chill units, utensils)
Supervises/performs breakdown of all food service materials and equipment after banquet functions.
Attends and conducts required department meetings to keep abreast of in-house activities/promotions and events.
Leads the team weekly with individual assignments/adjustments to business levels.
Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
Qualifications:
Required P rior Experience:
Prior stewarding experience required
Preferred Prior Experience:
2 + years of stewarding experience
Required Education:
High School or GED
Required Licenses/ Certification:
ServSafe Certification required at the time employment begins
Technology:
Basic Computer use: E-mail, Office 365
Physical:
Ability to lift, pull and push up to 25lbs ; Ability to bend and reach repeatedly; Ability to walk and move around for duration of scheduled shift
Competencies:
ORGANIZING
The supervisor should be highly organized to ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and accounted for.
COMMUNICATION
The supervisor should have excellent communication skills to liaise with other departments and communicate tasks and instructions to the stewarding team.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
The supervisor should be able to train and develop their team members to ensure that they are able to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
