Reporting Directly to Quality Manager,

SR, Quality Engineering Technician isresponsible for ensuring the product and services meet all Aerospace contractual requirements, while increasing yield and lowering costs of poor quality (e.g. scrap and rework).SR, Quality Engineering Technician is involved in various stages of casting manufacturing - process planning, inspection and test methodology, control of nonconforming material, issue resolution and product acceptance under ISO / AS9100 compliance for Aerospace Industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work directly with internal and external customers to understand all technical requirements and oversee the manufacturing NADCAP processes for heat treating, coatings, welding, chemical processing, and materials testing.
• Work directly with external Customers requirements and programsAPQP, Product Verification, Process Improvement, Specifications and other program and part number specific documents for AS9100.
• Participate in the development of failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and associated control plans.
• Understand and interpret engineering drawings and related documents.
• Obtain and function as Designated Quality Rep (DQR) for various Aerospace Prime customers.
• Perform defect analysis and work with the different functions to facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Drive continuous process improvement to increase yield, and reduce costs of poor-quality (including scrap and rework).
• Provide training to shop floor personnel and support functions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Magellan Aerospace Glendale Management.

*Qualifying Skills / Knowledge Requirements: *

• Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing process/production floor support, in a Quality Engineering Support, Quality Technician, or similar Quality function.
• Experience facilitating and performing effective root cause corrective actions based on ISO Standard for Aerospace QMS.
• Experience with First Article Inspection process, interpreting engineering drawings, and applying Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T).
• Demonstrated working experience with procedures that alter or change the mechanical, chemical or physical parts of products within the operation or manufacturing process
• Knowledge or experience with AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120 Standards desired.
