Job Title: 3rd Shift Department Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a 3rd Shift Department Supervisor to oversee and direct activities within our manufacturing department. This role requires working from 10 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. You will assist in executing production plans and deploying personnel to drive safety, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate manpower for operations.

  • Work with production planning to optimize efficiency related to manpower requirements.

  • Optimize the workforce based on qualifications and shift requirements.

  • Hold subordinates accountable and take necessary disciplinary actions based on production guidelines and company regulations.

  • Direct the workforce to maintain safety, quality, and efficient productivity.

  • Recommend and implement ideas to improve the production environment.

  • Coordinate operators to maintain the production plan based on call-offs, vacations, and other related deficiencies.

  • Work with Production Process Managers to coordinate training as required to maintain optimal flexibility.

  • Coordinate and direct workforce for operator-based preventative maintenance.

  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment aligning with business priorities.

  • Act as the lead contact person for non-routine tasks and on back shifts.

  • Assure maintenance work orders are issued, prioritized, and aligned with production planning and business priorities.

  • Conduct yearly performance evaluations with subordinates.

  • Train all operational employees on job content, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

  • Ensure the safety of all subordinates and visitors to the manufacturing area.

  • Create a safety-first culture to achieve zero lost time accidents.

  • Execute the operational budget as it pertains to personnel.

  • Ensure operational adherence to all quality standards including ISO 9001.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience in the chemical industry, preferably in coating and finishing technologies, including web processing.

  • 5 years’ experience as a supervisor in the chemical industry preferred.

  • Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve equipment, component, scheduling, quality, safety, and personnel issues.

  • Proficiency with relevant computer systems in a manufacturing environment as well as standard desktop software applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • College education preferred.

Work Environment

Our facility is very clean and well-lit, with an environment that is borderline cleanroom standard. The pace is steady and not overly fast, with everyone engaged in their tasks. Teamwork and communication are key, so the ability to collaborate is essential. Note that there are various smells throughout the facility due to the adhesive being manufactured, which can be strong in some areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00
