Job Description

AECOM is a part of some of Virginia’s most high profile and career building projects and programs. We are looking for highly motivated professionals who want to be part of these exciting programs and projects and are ready to grow their career to the next level. We are seeking a qualified and motivated Senior Project Manager to become a key leader on our Water Team in Richmond. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure. The successful applicant will work in a collaborative and rewarding consulting engineering environment on high profile projects/programs. Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to work with existing clients to provide value-added solutions and build new client relationships. Key attributes of the position include:

  • Providing oversight and management for multiple projects/programs of varying complexity and sensitivity

  • Working autonomously within established procedures and practices, with latitude to determine work priorities

  • Leading preparation of project deliverables using a team of technical and support staff

  • Assisting with marketing efforts and proposals to provide services or obtain funding for projects or programs

  • Providing management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforce company and project policies, and act as a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface

  • Sharing technical expertise and experience with others in the company via internal technical communication and presentations

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university

  • 10+ years’ of relevant experience with minimum 5 years of demonstrated project or program management experience

  • Professional Engineer in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire

  • Demonstrated experience in coordination with regulatory agencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Project Management Professional or training in project management

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $180,000.00 - $200,000.00.
