About the opportunity
AXIOM is one of the DSA alliance partners and is an unincorporated Joint Venture (JV) made up of three major engineering contracting companies each with complementary capabilities and skills. The members have excellent nuclear pedigrees, demonstrated expertise and effective track records across the UK nuclear fleet and related nuclear industries.
AXIOM provides process, mechanical, civil structural and architectural, electrical, instrumentation, control and safety capabilities to support Sellafield Ltd.
We have various exciting opportunities to join the EC&I Team in Glasgow to make a difference in the industry.
The tasks and projects open are at various stages of the project lifecycle including scoping and planning, detailed design and execution support. All work is delivered as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The team requires a Senior EC&I Engineer who can deliver designs in accordance with the project requirements for numerous projects and various clients. The tasks and projects cover a large area of site and the nature of the work is varied.
Key responsibilities:
Provide Electrical, Control & Instrumentation technical input to support the design and deliver packages of work.
Delivery of EC&I design and engineering for area systems.
Task delivery projects, working within the design team to estimate, deliver and close out tasks.
Production & checking of various design deliverables for projects including but not limited to small power design, lighting, building services, instrument replacement and fire alarm systems.
Working with a small integrated design team in the delivery of design packages against project milestones
Perform all assigned work to agreed Safety, Health & Environmental standards and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performance.
Support and mentoring of junior/ graduate engineers and apprentices.
Proven working knowledge of design methods and techniques in the EC&I discipline.
Awareness of current standards, regulations, legislation, and technical developments.
Degree qualified or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge & understanding.
Comprehensive experience working in design in a highly regulated industry.
Significant experience of working within a highly regulated industry, some of which may have been gained within the nuclear industry however this is not essential.
