Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles.DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrows healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students. Responsibilities

Responsible for performing patient evaluations, reviewing pretreatment teaching, recommending therapeutic intervention, counseling patients and families and collaborating with appropriate physicians to provide other appropriate direct care interventions within the scope of practice for physician's assistants. Primary point of contact and assumes responsibilities for managing the care for patients.

  • Gathers complete history of patients and perform complete physical examinations or focused physical examinations for specific complaints. Completes discharge summaries and maintains documentation on patient visits.

  • Conducts daily patient rounds and sees patients in outpatient clinic, as needed.

  • Recognizes and evaluates situations which require immediate attention of supervising physician and which require treatment procedures essential for life of patients; responds in appropriate manner.

  • Coordinates with supervising physician regarding patients seen such as sees patients in physician's office and hospital, instructs and counsels patients on health and disease issues based on assessment data and assists in cardiothoracic surgery when needed.

  • Prescribes and dispenses drugs and medical devices in accordance with regulations established by the Arizona Joint Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine and Surgery.

  • Monitors effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and makes appropriate referrals when necessary.

  • Secures patient health illness and psychological history by ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate laboratory, radiographic and other diagnostic tests.

Qualifications

MINIMUM

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum 3 years clinical experience in related area or specialty field.

(1) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License,

(2) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant, and

(3) Valid DEA registration.

Pay Range

$59.37 - $59.37/hour
