Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Hazardous Response Worker.

The Hazardous Response Worker's primary function is to provide streets maintenance services in hazardous response, to include dead animal pick -up, graffiti abatement and response to police and fire calls for assistance. The ideal candidate will be honest, an open communicator with demonstrated ability to be a team-oriented self-starter. Duties in these positions will require knowledge in operating heavy equipment for use in maintaining streets to include cleaning up after storms and hauling off debris. This work is often performed under adverse weather conditions and will entail working near heavy traffic.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement at the time of hire or promotion

  • 3 years of experience in street maintenance work.

  • IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification at the time of hire or promotion.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Traffic control/barricade procedure for compliance according to MUTCD.

  • Heavy and construction equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Traffic laws and rules involved with vehicle and equipment operation.

  • Proper and safe work techniques and the proper use and maintenance of all equipment.

  • Preparing reports, including maintenance logs/documentation to reflect project materials and yardages.

SKILLS IN:

  • Ability to safely operate and use specialized tools, equipment and standard office equipment.

  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

  • Performing basic mathematical calculations is needed to calculate quantities, trends, measures and weights.
