ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates necessary software systems for data entry, charging, and completion of radiology exams.
Assist Radiology Department by transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department, patient rooms, and other outpatient departments.
Greets and assists patients/visitors to the department, using good customer service skills. Serves as an ambassador ensuring patient's non-clinical needs are met. Assists patients with Radiology paperwork.
Acquires all necessary patient information for ordering of multi-disciplined procedures. Assures all proper insurance and documentations are attained and recorded appropriately. Verifies ICD 10 and CPT codes for Medicare billing. If not available when patient registers, employees must contact the ordering physician and add the documentation.
Communicates via a variety of methods to referring physicians, patients and other interested parties in accordance with departmental policies and following HIPPA guidelines. Answers and directs phone calls to the appropriate parties.
Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationHigh School diploma or GED - required
Required SkillsCertifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
