Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes SchoolBased Therapist in GENEVA, New York
Position Summary Licensed Masters level clinician trained in trauma-informed care and practices to be located on site at Geneva Central School District- North Street. The co-location of a trauma-informed therapist will work to impact social determinants of health and build resiliencyin students through the ongoing development and support of a community schools model. Management of the position will occur through both FCSFL & the School District. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Modeling the Agencys core values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in every interaction with co-workers, clients, service providers and the community at large. Providing comprehensive treatment services to meet the needs of the clients within the school-based program utilizing group, individual, conjoint and family therapy as needed and required. Providing clinical services for students who have been identified as a victim or secondary victim of crime, including but not limited to individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy. Utilizing therapeutic modalities including but not limited to DBT, TF-CBT, regulation strategies, mindfulness/grounding techniques, Trauma Play, expressive (journaling, art, music), crisis intervention, neurosequential model of therapeutics, etc. Promoting regulation of students in crisis and supports school staff in developing crisis and safety plans. Meeting with and maintaining regular contact with school mental health professionals to facilitate referral process and promote continuity of care. Modeling relationship-building and trauma-informed care within the school setting. Maintaining and completing clinical documentation for all active clients in a timely manner
