Hobart and William Smith Colleges Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions for International Recruitment in Geneva, New York

The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions for International Recruitment will be part of a two-person international recruitment team responsible for the creation and implementation of an aggressive recruitment strategy that utilizes both in-person and virtual recruitment methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement robust international recruitment strategy that is both in-person and virtual

  • Frequently corresponds with prospective students, their parents, secondary school personnel, alumni, and others, answering their questions and providing counsel about the admission process

  • Conduct virtual information sessions and admissions interviews, often in different time zones

  • Grow Hobart and William Smith’s presence internationally through recruitment travel, the use of social media, alumni and current students.

  • Evaluates admission applications and recommends admission and scholarship decisions.

  • Represents Hobart and William Smith to off campus constituents through active membership in international professional organizations.

  • Maintains connection to enrolled international students, utilizing them as ambassadors for recruitment purposes

  • Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances

  • Serve as an alternate Designated School Official (DSO), providing support to International Student Success Manager and guidance to F-1 International Community as needed. Responsibilities can include issuing I-20 documents, SEVIS reporting, administrative and operational assistance.

  • Represent and embrace the Colleges’ educational philosophy and mission.

    Salary range is $58,500 to $82,500.

    A Bachelor’s Degree, a valid drivers license, passport and an eagerness to travel internationally is required. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual, able to work under certain degrees of pressure. In addition, candidates for the position must possess an excitement to work with students from across the globe, a willingness to work outside normal office hours, as well as strong customer service skills and strong computer skills. Knowledge of enrollment systems applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs is helpful. Must be able to work with and maintain extremely confidential and sensitive information. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America
