Richardson RFPD, an Arrow Company, has an exciting opening to drive success in the fast-growing Internet of Things (IOT) marketplace.
The IoT Strategic Product Marketing Director has the responsibility to guide the strategic implementation of our expanding Internet of Things (IoT) business unit.
The Director will drive the RFPD end-to-end Global IoT solution offering including wireless embedded solutions, gateways, sensors, connectivity, data platforms, analytics and security solutions.
This hands-on role will place an emphasis on implementing our growth plans of existing suppliers while seeking our complimentary new hardware, software and connectivity ecosystem partners to support customer’s needs for satisfying project outcomes.
The Director will conduct vertical market research and analysis, develop vertical-specific collateral, and work closely with the global sales teams to evangelize IoT end-to-end solution selling.
The Director will be the key contact/interface between the various RFPD groups (Sales/FAEs, PM’s, Finance, Contracts) and the supplier’s corporate level staff members
Growing RFPD’s revenue, market share and improving return on working capital are primary measure of this position. The IoT Strategic Product Marketing Director will report to the Director of Global Marketing and work closely with regional marketing managers as well as our President/General Manager.
This position will work to achieve quarterly and annual revenue and profitability objectives around, planning and execution to aggressive schedules. The key responsibilities include:
Drive growth of RFPD Global IoT revenue and margin
Define and execute the roadmap and strategy of all current and future products to be promoted towards IoT market applications.
Engage directly and thoroughly with the RFPD Global Sales team as well as lead regular meetings with customers and suppliers to understand use cases and test new features and concepts.
Understand market opportunities and competition and specify market requirements for current and future products and professional services. Drive the expansion of supplier line-card to offer satisfying customer outcomes.
Aid in the development and implementation of supplier strategic business plans. Offer informed solutions both internally and externally. Provide guidance or offers strategic suggestions.
Collaborate with the sales team, prospects and current customers for feedback on current/future products. Provide the sales team with training and technical knowledge to help sell the product and professional services.
Responsible for gathering and prioritizing requirements, work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure customer satisfaction and support the company’s overall strategy and goals.
Closely work with marketing team to manage releases to customers, tradeshows, promotions and advertising.
Aid in implementation of internal operational requirements to adequately support the expansion into professional services such as promotion of software, connectivity data plans, etc.
Develop supplier relationships with assigned suppliers and be a supplier advocate within RFPD, making “Doing Business” as easy as possible for the Sales and Supplier teams. This includes regular quarterly business reviews with key suppliers.
Develop strong working relationships across Arrow Electronics IoT global team and leverage Arrow solution offering
Helps to identify market share gains
North-America traveling up to 30% required

Education & Qualifications
BS/BA degree required (preferably, EE, Computer Science or similar technical degree) from an accredited four-year college or university.
MS (preferably, EE, Computer Science or similar technical degree) and/or MBA from an accredited institution strongly preferred.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum of 7 years of product marketing or sales experience in the Industrial IoT, Enterprise Software, Web Services or System Integrator fields.
Five+ years of management experience.
Proven track record of successfully researching, analyzing and forming vertical-specific marketing strategies for Enterprise and Industrial IoT, Transportation IoT, Energy and other IoT market segments.
Detail-oriented with superb organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Desirable Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have knowledge in the following areas:
An understanding of commercial norms for Industrial IoT, Enterprise Software, and Services.
Ability to synthesize multiple viewpoints, perspectives and opinions with objective and impartial
Strong communication and diplomacy skills are a must.
