Stanley Black and Decker Production Manager in Gemonio, Italy
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean production methodologies and a proven track record of implementing lean principles to optimize production processes.
The Production Manager, will support the Plant Manager and the business managing production and costs, according to corporate rules and from a Lean Production perspective. Will collaborate with Production Supervisors to manage production and with the HR Manager for the development and retention of resources. His/Her responsibilities include projects of continuous improvement, cost reduction, and elimination of waste in the entire production process, and manage, with the support of the Supply Chain department the production schedule. To reach the targets, he/she applies the principles of Lean Production with an efficient cascade down to all members of the department, starting with Production Supervisors.
Has a direct control on production, providing information and suggesting business performances improvements, always based on budget, Company values and objectives. Provides advice and ideas for future investments and present the related requests to Corporate. Analyze departments efficiency on weekly basis, giving particular attention to production plans and maintenance results, help defining resources in line with company size in terms of costs and production. Collaborate with other Company functions for the correct management of suppliers.
MAIN TASKS
Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure timely and efficient production of high-quality in compliance with the Stanley Black & Decker guidelines.
Record the production processes and guidelines with the support of production Supervisors to obtain a consistent operational view of the business. Check and monitor defined KPIs, to evaluate the production performance.
Contribute solving efficiency and productivity issues of the various departments analyzing the weekly results.
In collaboration with Supply Chain dpt Develop, guarantee the execution of production schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and practices across the production floor. Utilize lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban to streamline processes and eliminate waste. Conduct regular lean audits and training sessions for staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Monitor the schedule of production projects and take care of reporting their status. Base on target defined by both the Corporate and the Plant Manager suggest projects that guarantee savings for the Company.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards. Implement and maintain quality control processes to minimize defects and ensure consistent product quality. Address and resolve any production-related quality issues promptly.
Supervise, mentor, and develop production team members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans to enhance team performance. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the production team.
Support Standard Work definition (standard costs) in collaboration with the Plant Manager and the Plant Controller for operations and production process.
With a particular attention to cost reduction, evaluate new product insourcing or optimization strategies in collaboration with the engineering Dpt.
