We are looking for an I&E Engineering Specialist to join our CI team in Geismar, LA.

We are seeking an experienced professional to be responsible for providing instrumentation and electrical technical expertise across an assigned site cluster. In this role, you will work to assure proper design, installation and repair of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards. You will provide expertise to support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities. Additionally, this position provides technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses and other reliability related activities. The general scope is instrumentation, some controls (DCS/PLC) and electrical, typically less than 600 volts.

Providing technical leadership and support to maintenance teams
Applying your broad-based knowledge with various types of instrumentation, electrical, and control devices to troubleshoot issues
Collaborating with operating units and reliability groups to improve equipment repair and long-term reliability
Supporting project design, construction, commissioning, and startup activities
Providing guidance and training to technical maintenance staff and interns
Assessing new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair to enhance cost efficiency, reliability, and delivery performance
Maintaining technical documentation, such as instrument lists, specifications, equipment manuals, procedures, drawings, and guidelines
Participating in TAR executions
Having a good understanding of regulatory regulations and requirements including EHS
If you...
Possess a High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of experience, or a 2-year Technical I&E or related degree with 3+ years of experience.
Have experience in the petrochemical or similar industry
Possess broad hands-on technical knowledge and experience with instrumentation, process control, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Have a solid understanding of maintenance work processes and a good general understanding of maintenance activities associated with process equipment such as pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks, relief devices, and compressors
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal andorganizational skills, and keen attention to detail
Are familiar with software like SAP, SPI (InTools), Microsoft Office
