What You'll Be Doing
Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing Civil and Structural expertise for the Engineering Design Department at the Geismar facility. The position requires a strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in teams while also working independently to lead civil/structural scope on capital projects. The role will assure the proper design and installation of civil and structural systems according to regulatory and site standards.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Areas of responsibility include executing capital projects for the Civil and Structural discipline. These include but are not limited to support in the development of conceptual design, FEED/FEL estimate packages, and construction packages for detailed design.
Provide technical direction and quality oversight of civil designers.
Serve as the site owner engineer to collaborate, coordinate, and validate civil design executed by third parties.
Ideal Background
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required. Structural coursework is required for structural engineering positions.
Registration: Professional Engineer in LA required with authorization to seal design specifications
Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural engineering.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work on multiple small projects and tasks in parallel
Self-driven with good communication, organization, coordination, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated good analytical thinking and customer focus
STAADPro design software
Structural steel and civil (foundation) design, construction, and repair
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
