Job Description Summary
Providing leadership during the mechanical design lifecycle of power transformer. Creating & checking concepts and designs of world class, cost effective, high quality and reliable mechanical design of standard /special power transformers based on customer’s specification and checking the accuracy of designs, calculations, drawings and specifications for procurement, quality, test and manufacturing functions.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with other project team members to comply with project requirements and meet project schedules + timeline
Provide technical support to external design resources, equipment vendors, and fabricators
Review and approve fabricator and external design drawings, documentation and fabrication sequence
Understand national and international design standards and necessary design tools
Following up the project from beginning to the delivery and examination and analyse the customer specifications
Provide international quality power transformer design documents on tenders and project, using design specific software and standard rules: CAD tools, cooling & specific mechanical calculations
Following non-conformance reports and taking necessary preventive actions
Attend engineering & production reviews to produce error free designs & reliable products, to reduce the cost of non-quality and to insure adequate performance of the unit
Prepare the tender and/or contract design, taking in account international rules and national standards, using the appropriate GE standards and tools, relying on material specifications (technical understandings, costs, procurement loop), and manufacturing capabilities
To get specific customer requests and respond them
Develop and maintain business relations and effective communication with suppliers, to benefit from their support & to support suppliers in production of quality components
Aware of the company and local EHS policies, rules and standards. Showing exemplary behaviours on EHS
Coaching, supporting and monitoring of EHS implementations in his/her team and area of responsibility
Performing the preventive/corrective actions in collaboration with EHS team to avoid the accidents, incidents and environmental damages
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant fields
Advanced level of English both oral & written
Knowledge of 2d & 3d Cad Software (Autodesk, Autocad and Inventor) would be an asset
Min. 3+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design area in transformer sector
Ability to work in Gebze location
